Preparations on for President Droupadi Murmu’s visit to AIIMS-Mangalagiri-OxBig News Network

Extensive preparations are on in Mangalagiri for the first-ever convocation of AIIMS, scheduled for December 17, where President Droupadi Murmu will be the chief guest.

District Collector S. Nagalakshmi, along with AIIMS director Madhabananda Kar, Joint Collector A. Bhargav Teja and Tenali Sub-Collector V. Sanjana Simha, held a review meeting with AIIMS officials and other district officers on Thursday evening at the AIIMS auditorium to oversee the arrangements.

During the meeting, Collector Nagalakshmi emphasised the importance of meticulous planning to ensure a seamless event. She instructed officials to beautify the AIIMS campus, set up clear signboards and organise parking zones.

The AIIMS auditorium, where the event will take place, was inspected and arrangements for seating the guests were reviewed. The Collector also directed officials to install barricades at necessary locations and ensure uninterrupted power supply, with backup generators in place.

Given the President’s journey via road from Vijayawada, the Collector instructed the officials to improve road sanitation, beautification and install hoardings along the route. Fire safety vehicles, a public address system and LED screens will also be arranged.

Various committees have been formed to oversee specific tasks for the event. The Collector urged all assigned officials to fulfil their duties diligently to make the convocation a grand success.
