Five arrested with 30 kg of marijuana in Hyderabad-OxBig News Network

The Malakpet Police arrested a gang of five men involved in transporting and attempting to sell 30 kilograms of ganja. The accused have been identified as Ikkiri Bhaskar, 27, Ala Bharath Kumar Reddy, 32, Vallamdasu Vamsi, 25, Jitta Kiran, 22, and Boini Vamshi, 28.

According to the police, they received information regarding the movement of drugs in a white car, which was reportedly escorted by a motorcycle. “We received the tip-off about the vehicles travelling through Gaddiannaram X Road in Malakpet towards Dhoolpet, a known hotspot for illegal trade, to sell the ganja at inflated prices,” said the police.

At 9.40 p.m., the police stopped the vehicle and seized 30 kilograms of ganja, the car, the bike, and five mobile phones believed to be connected to the smuggling operation. A case was booked under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and investigation was initiated.
