Ram Charan’s Game Changer all set to cross Rs 130 crore mark

Ram Charan‘s much-anticipated political thriller, Game Changer, has faced an uphill battle at the box office, despite its star-studded cast and grand promotional campaigns. While the film garnered an impressive Rs 117.65 crore in its first week, its earnings have seen a significant decline since then, as it is all set to cross Rs 130 crore mark on Republic Day.

In its second week, Game Changer added Rs 11.15 crore to its total, a sharp drop from its opening week. The downward trend continued in the third weekend, with the film collecting a mere Rs 30 lakh on Friday, and dipping further to Rs 24 lakh on Saturday. Such figures are indicative of waning audience interest and stiff competition from other releases in Telugu belt like Daaku Maharaj and Sankranthiki Vasthunam.

The performance of Game Changer in international markets has also been underwhelming. In North America, a key overseas market for Telugu films since the release of Baahubali series, Kalki 2898 AD and Pushpa 2- The Rule, the movie has collected just USD 2,088,753 so far, falling significantly short of its breakeven target of USD 4.5 million. The lack of traction overseas, mirrors the film’s domestic struggles.

Several factors could explain the film’s disappointing performance. Despite Ram Charan’s massive fan base and the post-RRR hype surrounding his projects, Game Changer appears to have fallen short in meeting audience expectations. Mixed reviews from critics and viewers alike have pointed to a weak screenplay and uneven pacing as significant drawbacks.
