Chief Minister tells SRM-University A.P. to lead the start-up ecosystem-OxBig News Network

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu being greeted by founder Chancellor of SRM Group T.R. Paarivendhar on the University’s Amaravati campus on Tuesday.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday (March 10, 2025) said the future belonged to Internet of Things, Quantum Computing and Green Energy.

Speaking at a “Conference of Population Dynamics and Development” organised under the auspices of the Planning Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh, at SRM University-A.P., he said with the institution being a leader in tertiary education, it should develop a strong workforce of designers, coders and experts with skills in algorithms and hardware, which are vital for building a progressive state.

Mr. Naidu said SRM University-A.P. should lead the start-up ecosystem and produce more entrepreneurs by establishing a dedicated Centre for Innovation.

Mr. Naidu held an interaction with the leadership and management of SRM University-AP on infrastructure planning, development and execution of the upcoming projects. The University team, headed by founder-Chancellor of the SRM Group T.R. Paarivendhar, Pro Chancellor P. Satyaranayanan, Vice-Chancellor Manoj K. Arora, Executive Director-Research, SRM Group of Institutions D. Narayana Rao and Registrar R, Premkumar showcased the exemplary growth of the University, emphasising on the establishment of various new age infrastructure and facilities to foster a future-ready academic community.

Prof. D. Narayana Rao explained to the Chief Minister about the university’s infrastructure planning and development plan and execution period for the same in the coming years. He gave a comprehensive overview of the future projects, including the proposed Centre for Green Hydrogen and Clean Energy Innovation, Centre for Quantum Computing, Centre for Interplanetary Exploration, SRM Medical College, AI Institute and Skilling Academy among other projects.

Dr. Paarivendhar said the institution followed the Chief Minister’s vision to transform Amaravati into an innovation hub and Green Co. He said the University had aligned its goals with the Chief Minister’s Swarnandhra Vision 2047.

The Chief Minister inaugurated two new buildings on the campus and laid the foundation stones for four new buildings.
