The Greens are maintaining that they have no real signs of progression in talks with the CDU/CSU and SPD for now. Adding that the party will continue to reject the draft legislation on the incoming government’s debt plans.

As mentioned earlier here, it wouldn’t be unusual for them to stick with this stance right up until the dot. After all, optics matter more than anything else in politics. So, they wouldn’t want to seem like they caved in so easily and must try to make it look like a win for their side as well in the end. The euro remains relatively calm with EUR/USD holding at 1.0875 still on the day.
