The Animal actor tied the knot with Alia in April 2022 after dating her since 2018. Now, he has shared a fascinating incident that suggests he was already ‘married’—but not in the way one would expect.
During an interview with Mashable India, Ranbir recalled an extraordinary fan encounter from his early years in the industry. A devoted admirer took her admiration to another level by performing a wedding ritual at the gate of his family home.
“I wouldn’t say craziest, as it is used in a negative way, but I remember, in my early years, there was a girl—I never met her—but my watchman told me that she came with a pandit and married my gate. At the bungalow where I lived with my parents, there was tika on the gate and some flowers. I was out of town at the time, I think, so that was quite crazy. I haven’t yet met my first wife, so I look forward to meeting you at some point,” he revealed.

Ranbir, who has never met this mystery admirer, humorously acknowledged her as his ‘first wife’.
Alia had once shared how her romance with Ranbir began during the shoot of Brahmāstra in an episode of Koffee With Karan.
