In a chat with Fox & Friends, Melania introduced the documentary as a secret project in collaboration with Amazon that strives to cover Donald Trump’s historic comeback in the White House. “We started the production in November, and we are shooting right now, so it’s a day-to-day life, what I’m doing, what kind of responsibilities I have,” Melania stated.
“It’s day-to-day, from transition team to moving to the White House, packing, establishing my team, the First Lady office, moving into the White House, what it takes to make the residence your home, to hire the people that you need,” she added.

What was the ideation behind the documentary?

When she was asked about the ideation and the process that went behind making the documentary, Melania revealed that her eponymous memoir that she released a year ago was a success. “The book was such a success, and I’m very proud, and I get so many messages and letters [from readers] how they enjoy the book, and they would love, my fans and people, would love to hear more from me,” she mentioned.
Furthermore, Trump expressed that due to the memoir being a massive hit, she had an idea to expand her life’s details to a movie. “So I had an idea to make a movie, to make a film about my life. My life is incredible. It’s incredibly busy. And I told my agent, you know, I have this idea. So please, you know, go out and make a deal for me,” she added.

The deal between the First Lady and Amazon

The agent bagged the $40 million deal for her documentary and a rumoured follow-up series. “The first lady’s cut is more than 70% of the $40 million, according to people familiar with the matter,” according to The Wall Street Journal.
The documentary is going to be directed by Brett Rattner, and the release date has not been made public.
