Suniel Shetty’s ‘Kesari Veer’ to skip Pakistan release following Pahalgam attack: Report

Following the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, Suniel Shetty’s upcoming movie Kesari Veer: Legends of Somnath will not be released in Pakistan. The film, featuring Sooraj Pancholi, Vivek Oberoi, and Akanksha Sharma, portrays the courageous warriors who protected the Somnath Temple from invaders during the 14th century.
Producer Takes a Moral Stand
Producer Kanu Chauhan informed SCREEN that he has instructed his overseas distributor to prevent the release of his film in Pakistan following the recent militant attack originating from Pakistan on Indian soil. He expressed zero tolerance for such attacks and stated that there is no justification for these cowardly acts. Chauhan emphasized that releasing ‘Kesari Veer’ in Pakistan is not an option, taking a moral stand in support of the innocent victims who lost their lives in the terrorist attack.
Release Plans for Other Markets
He further said that ‘Kesari Veer’ will definitely be released in India and other international markets like the USA, Gulf, UK, and North America.
Trailer Launch and Film Details
The trailer launch of ‘Kesari Veer: Legends of Somnath’ is scheduled to take place in Mumbai on April 29, 2025. In the film, Sooraj Pancholi stars as Hamirji, with Vivek Oberoi as the antagonist and Suniel Shetty as his ally Vegda. Directed by Prince Dhiman and produced by Kanu Chauhan, the film features grand sets and intense action sequences.
