New Delhi [India], May 24 (ANI): Union Minister of Commerce & Industry Piyush Goyal met European Commissioner for Trade Maros Sefcovic to debate the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between India and the European Union (EU).
EU official Maros Sefcovic on Friday expressed through social media platform ‘X’, “Delighted to welcome my good friend and counterpart @PiyushGoyal. We proceed to make progress. Let’s keep the momentum – with arduous work, clear focus – and I look ahead to our subsequent assembly quickly.”
“Thank you for the nice and cozy welcome, my good friend. We stay dedicated to the shared prosperity of India and the EU. Let us hold this tempo going!” Union Minister Piyush Goyal tweeted in response to Maros’s tweet.
According to the European Union, the EU-India commerce talks are selecting up tempo, and each side purpose to wrap up a deal by the top of 2025.
Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar sought Dutch help for accelerating negotiations on the India-European Union free commerce settlement (FTA), which India hopes to conclude by the top of 2025.
In their final assembly, each India and the EU reaffirmed their dedication to handle pending points concerning their bold proposed Free Trade Agreement (FTA). During that assembly, India confused the significance of giving equal consideration to non-tariff obstacles (NTBs) alongside tariff negotiations to make sure significant progress.
The EU and India launched two analysis and innovation initiatives beneath the EU-India Trade and Technology Council (TTC), with a complete funding of 41 million Euros (Rs 394 crore). These initiatives will drive collaborative options to urgent environmental challenges and foster cutting-edge technological developments.
Last month, the ambassador of the European Union to India and Bhutan, Herve Delphin, expressed religion within the place that India and the European Union maintain within the present geopolitical panorama for “drawing the bridge” with the Global South and delivering on the expectation of the area.
