Mumbai receives 106 mm rains in 24 hours; IMD forecasts reasonable to heavy showers
After being pummelled by heavy downpours in the beginning of the week, Mumbai witnessed a quick respite on Tuesday morning, with the island metropolis recording a median rainfall of 106 mm in 24 hours, civic officers mentioned.
In 24 hours ending at 8 am on Tuesday, the island metropolis recorded a median of 106 mm rainfall, whereas the western suburbs acquired 72 mm and the jap suburbs 63 mm, the BMC mentioned.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast usually cloudy skies with reasonable to heavy rainfall for the town and suburbs over the subsequent 24 hours.
Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds are anticipated at remoted locations, it was said.
