Chief Minister M.K. Stalin inaugurating arts and science colleges on Friday, June 20.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Friday virtually inaugurated four arts and science colleges in the State. The colleges in K.V. Kuppam in Vellore district, Thuraiyur in Tiruchi district, Ulundurpettai in Kallakurichi district and Chengam in Tiruvannamalai district would function from the 2025-26 academic year.
With the four colleges, the total number of State-run arts and science colleges functioning in the State has risen to 180, an official release said. In an event in the Secretariat, Mr. Stalin also virtually inaugurated new buildings for Tiruvalluvar University constructed at a cost of ₹36 crore.
The CM is also scheduled to inaugurate the renovated Valluvar Kottam in Nungambakkam in Chennai on Saturday. The structure has been renovated at a cost of ₹80 crore. The renovated campus has an air-conditioned auditorium spread over 20,000 sq.ft. with over 1,500 seats.
The campus has a cafeteria and has parking facilities for over 160 cars. In the first event in the renovated Valluvar Kottam, the CM is set to be facilitated by disabled persons for the welfare measures implemented by the State government over the past four years.
