The government of Karnataka will look into Congress MLA Raju Kage’s concerns over delay in implementation of development works in Kagwad, Home Minister G. Parameshwara said in Bagalkot on June 23.

“Mr. Kage has complained that development works have slowed down in his constituency. He has pointed out that work orders were not issued for some community halls of ₹13 crore that had got administrative approvals two years ago. We will definitely look into it. Senior officers will look into the issue and resolve it. Work orders will be issued soon. But then, we should understand that development works take time. A detailed project report with plans and estimates has to be submitted first. Finance Department should clear it. Only then, the work will start. Everything takes some time,” Dr. Parameshwara said.

Responding to the allegation by Aland MLA B. R. Patil about corruption in allocation of houses, the Home Minister said that the government would order an inquiry if specific allegations are made.

“It is not right to make generalised allegations. They need to be specific. The MLA may have an issue with a specific department or a particular wing of a department. But it should not be generalised. It is not right to blame the entire Housing Department or the whole government machinery.

“We will take action if a specific complaint is made, or even if a police complaint is filed against a specific issue. We will take it seriously and order an inquiry even if an opposition party member, or a common man complains,” he said.

Responding to the letter by Minister H. K. Patil about the delay in investigation into mining scams, Dr. Parameshwara said that the government would take all steps to recover the losses incurred by the government.

“It is estimated that ore valued at around ₹150,000 crore has been exported in violation of rules. People have made money and bought properties. Mr. Patil wants these properties to be attached to ensure recovery of losses. This will be discussed in the Cabinet. Of course, Mr. Patil is referring to the period before our tenure. However, the earlier government did not act on it. Mr. Patil is trying to say that now that we are in government, we should take action, he said.
