Three pilgrims on their return journey from Tirumala were killed on the spot, and eleven others were injured, six of them critically, when a speeding vehicle rammed into a van carrying the victims near Chennamarrimitta village of Kurabalakota mandal in Annamayya district of Andhra Pradesh on Monday (June 30, 2025).
According to the Kurabalakota police, the deceased and injured hailed from Bagepalli in Karnataka and were on their return journey. The van they were traveling in was hit by an unidentified vehicle, which led to the tragic mishap. The intense collision left three killed on the spot.
The villagers along with the police rushed to the spot and took up a rescue operation. All the injured were shifted to the Government District Hospital at Madanapalle. Duty doctors informed the police that the condition of the six of the injured was critical, and measures were initiated to shift them to a corporate hospital in Bengaluru.
All the police stations of Madanapalle division and the neighboring stations in Karnataka were alerted in a bid to track the elusive vehicle, which caused the incident.
A case has been registered.
A.P. Ministers express grief
Meanwhile, State Ministers B.C. Janardhan Reddy and Mandipalli Ram Prasad Reddy expressed grief over the fatal road accident., which claimed the lives of Karnataka residents. The Ministers instructed the hospital authorities in Madanapalle to provide all the necessary medical attention to the injured. They conveyed condolences to the bereaved families.Â
