In a new interview, Nawazuddin discussed his rapport with Anurag Kashyap and said that he loves working with the filmmaker and hence always remembers the time when he worked with him. Interestingly, Nawazuddin revealed that he initially rejected the script of ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ calling it rubbish.
The beast inside Anurag Kashyap woke up
In a conversation with India Today, the actor opened up about his bond with Anurag and also revealed the reason behind initially rejecting the script of the film. He said, ‘With great difficulty only five dialogues were written for me and Manoj Bajpayee had some random lines, but when we went to the set, a beast inside Anurag woke up. The way he started writing the story on the spot, the film got made in the same way. Before that, no one had a script for the film.’ Actor Nawazuddin further said, ‘Anurag had a complicated story in his mind, based on which he decided to make a film.’

Nawazuddin Siddiqui further said, ‘Initially, due to financial reasons, shooting could not take place for two or three days. Later, Anurag asked us to go and sit near the pond. He made Huma Qureshi and me sit there and we said whatever I had said during the workshop. This is how the iconic scene was shot.
