NASA has detected a giant meteorite coming towards the earth from the sky. It has been named 2024 MT-1, whose diameter is about 260 feet. NASA has given this information. Let us tell you whether there is any danger to the earth from this or not?
A big danger is coming from the sky towards the earth. Actually we are talking about a meteorite i.e. asteroid. The US space agency NASA has also issued a warning regarding this. According to the information, this meteorite is moving towards the Earth at a speed of 65,215 km per hour, which has been named 2024 MT-1. The diameter of this meteorite is about 260 feet. At the same time, it is expected to reach close to Earth by July 8. NASA first detected this asteroid in the Near Earth Object Observation Program. Under this program, meteorites and comets coming towards the Earth are tracked.
Huge asteroid coming closer to Earth
Let us tell you that meteorites coming towards the Earth are detected with the help of telescopes and large instruments and radar on the ground. In such a situation, the size and speed of 2024 MT-1 has increased the concern of scientists. However, NASA has said that there is no immediate danger of it colliding with the Earth. Let us tell you that the path of 2024 MT-1 is being monitored by NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Let us tell you that 2024 MT-1 is moving towards the Earth, although it is not going to collide with the Earth. It will pass about 15 lakh km away from the Earth. This distance is four times more than the distance between the Earth and the Moon.
Meteorites are capable of causing destruction
Let us tell you that the size of such asteroids is very dangerous. Let us tell you that if meteorites like 2024 MT-1 collide with the Earth, then they are capable of causing fire, tsunami, explosion and many other types of destruction. However, NASA’s Planetary Defense Coordination Office is constantly working on such threats and strategies to deal with them. Let us tell you that PDCO is engaged in developing a technology that can avoid such threats.(indiatv)
