Not to panic is key to foil cyber fraud attempts: PM Modi-OxBig News Network

Addressing the 115th episode of the radio programme ‘Mann Ki Baat,’ Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday raised concerns over cyber fraud and digital arrest.

PM Modi said, “The fraudsters of digital arrest phone calls, at times, impersonate as police, Central Bureau of Investigation, Narcotics or Reserve Bank of India. Using such various labels, they converse as fake officers with a lot of confidence.”

He asked people not to panic while receiving such calls.

PM Modi said, “Whenever you receive such a call, don’t be scared. You should be aware that no investigation agency inquires like this through a phone or video call.”

He also mentioned Sardar Patel and Birsa Munda highlighting their farsightedness. As the year marks their 150^th anniversary, PM Modi said, “The country has decided to celebrate their birth anniversary,” and added, “both these great souls faced different challenges but their vision was the same: unity of the country.”

He further said, “On November 15, 2023, I went to Ulihatu village in Jharkhand, the birthplace of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, his birth anniversary. This visit had a great impact on me. I am the first Prime Minister of the country who has had the privilege of touching my forehead to the soil of this holy land.”

The PM also talked about the country’s burgeoning animation industry. He said, “You might have noticed that from a smartphone to a cinema screen, gaming console to virtual reality, animation is omnipresent. India is on the way to ushering in a new revolution in the world of animation.”

Modi added that the animation sector has donned the form of an industry that is powering other dependent industries.

Regarding World Animation Day, he said “On October 28, World Animation Day will be celebrated.

“Let us resolve to make India a global animation powerhouse.”
