Days after the deadly terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir that claimed at least 26 lives, actor Atul Kulkarni made a powerful statement by visiting Pahalgam. Sharing photos and videos from his trip, Kulkarni urged citizens not to fear but to reclaim their connection with the region. “This is our Kashmir, this is our country, we will come,” he declared.

On April 27, the Rang De Basanti actor posted images posing at the “I love Pahalgam” installation, savoring local snacks, and shopping for a cricket bat from a Kashmiri store. In one post, he wrote in Hindi, “This is the property of India. Courage is heavier than fear. Hate is lost to love. Let’s go to Kashmir. I have come, you also come,” adding hashtags like #Chalokashmir and #DefeatTerror.

Kulkarni’s visit struck a chord with locals, with one shopkeeper thanking him online for showing solidarity during tough times. “Thank you so much for coming in these difficult times and showing the enemies we ain’t afraid,” the shopkeeper wrote.

Speaking to ANI, Kulkarni explained that his visit was a deliberate message of resistance against fear. “The incident on April 22 saddened the entire country. I read that 90% of bookings here were canceled. Terrorists want to scare us away. But this is not going to happen. This is our Kashmir, our country, and we will keep coming here,” he said.

He added, “I could not give this message staying in Mumbai. So I came here. If I can come, the rest of the country can also come. We should not be scared.”

Kulkarni’s Instagram Stories further chronicled his journey — from nearly empty flights to warm interactions with Kashmiri locals. Videos he shared showed that despite the recent attack, tourists were still arriving in Pahalgam and surrounding areas.

The recent terror attack in Pahalgam that left at least 26 people dead and over 20 injured, has prompted strong reactions from across the Indian film industry. Prominent actors, filmmakers, and public figures have condemned the violence, offering condolences and demanding accountability.
