China on Friday (April 11, 2025) raised its additional tariffs on imports from the U.S. to 125% in retaliation to U.S. President Trump administration’s 145% levies on Chinese exports.

The Chinese Commerce Ministry in Beijing said China raised additional tariffs to 125% on imported U.S. products, raising the levies from the previous 84%.
China also filed a lawsuit with the World Trade Organization (WTO) following the U.S. tariff hikes, the Commerce Ministry said.
According to the latest U.S. notification, the overall trade tariffs on China amounted to 145%.
