Revenue Minister K. Rajan on Thursday (March 13, 2025) said the complaints related to the list of beneficiaries included in the Chooralmala rehabilitation project will be examined in detail.
Speaking to reporters in Wayanad, he said the grievances related to the duplication of beneficiaries in the list, which was a major issue, had already been addressed. No eligible persons will be exempted from the list of beneficiaries under the rehabilitation programme, he affirmed.
According to Mr. Rajan, the rehabilitation package will be implemented with humanitarian consideration at its centre. The complaints submitted to the Disaster Management Authority will be considered with the deserving importance by the State government at the ripe time, he asserted.
Explaining the State government’s stance, Mr. Rajan said the rehabilitation project will ensure seven cents of land and a house to the eligible victims. The entire rehabilitation project will be completed based on this plan, he added.
The Minister also held talks with a group of protesters who staged a sit-in near the Collectorate on Thursday with a demand to address the complaints related to the final beneficiary list. The protesters said they got a favourable assurance from the Minister to end the strike.
