The case is from Thana Bhawan police station area of Shamli district. On Friday, Sub Inspector Manendra Kumar posted here has filed a complaint in his police station. He saw some objectionable tweets on social media regarding the death of a person named Firoz in Thana Bhawan area and lodged a complaint.
An FIR has been registered in Uttar Pradesh against notorious Wasim Akram Tyagi and Zakir Ali Tyagi for posting inflammatory and objectionable posts on social media every day. This FIR has been registered by Shamli Police on Friday (5 July 2024). There are a total of 5 accused in the case in which the complainant is the police itself. The police allege that there is a possibility of spreading animosity in the society and disturbing the peace due to the tweets of all these. Also, there is resentment among the people of other communities due to the actions of these accused.
This case is of Thana Bhawan police station area of Shamli district. On Friday (5 July 2024), Sub Inspector Manendra Kumar posted here has given a complaint in his police station. In the complaint, Manendra told that on July 5, he was checking suspicious vehicles in Jalalabad area with his fellow policemen. During this time, he saw some objectionable tweets on social media regarding the death of a person named Firoz in Thana Bhawan area itself. These tweets were being made by Wasim Akram Tyagi, Zakir Ali Tyagi, Asif Rana, Saif Allahabadi and Ahmed Raza Khan.
The police said that these accused had given titles like “One more death” in mob lynching. In these posts, the accused further wrote, “Late night in Jalalabad town of Thana Bhawan police station area, a young man named Firoz alias Kala Qureshi was beaten up and killed by some people of another community on suspicion of breaking into a house. In this way, anyone will kill anyone and say that he had suspicion.”
According to the police, people of other communities are angry with the accused for making such tweets. In the complaint, Sub Inspector Manendra Kumar has alleged that the tweets of the five accused are likely to spread animosity among people, spoil communal harmony and disrupt peace at the local level. Calling the words written by the accused as obscene posts, the police have saved its screenshots. The police have taken action against those who posted these obscene posts under Sections 196 and 353 of the Indian Justice Code. OpIndia has the FIR copy.
Victim card also did not work
An attempt was also made to play the victim card against this action of Shamli Police. However, the police has termed its action as correct. The police says that despite there being no communal angle in the incident, an attempt was made to deliberately give it a different form. The police has described the post made by the accused as malicious. The police has also denied the claims that this incident was mob lynching. Further action will be taken on the basis of the post-mortem report.
Firoz was drunk
Shamli police has presented the truth on the confusion being spread on Firoz’s death. Police has told the truth of the incident on its X handle. According to the police, on the night of July 4, 2024, Firoz entered Rajendra’s house in Jalalabad town. During this time, Firoz was intoxicated. Intoxicated Firoz scuffled with Rajendra’s family. Firoz’s family came and took him with them where he died. No serious injury marks were found on the body of the deceased. The post-mortem report also proved that the cause of death was not the fight.
Wasim and Zakir were spreading rumors of mob lynching
Despite repeated explanations and clarifications by the police, Wasim Akram Tyagi and Zakir Ali were habitually calling this case a mob lynching. These people had started trying to paint the matter in a communal color even before the police and post-mortem investigation report came. Due to this, there was a possibility of Rajendra’s family’s security being affected. Due to the rumour spread by Wasim Akram and Zakir Ali, who add Tyagi to their names, their followers also started spreading this lie.
Just a few days ago, these people had praised Shamli Police
After the FIR was registered against them, Wasim Akram Tyagi and Zakir Ali along with all their supporters have started trying to prove Shamli Police wrong. This is the same group which had praised Shamli Police just a few days ago. The special thing is that at that time the police station area was also this Thana Bhawan. Shamli Police’s revelation that Javed had sacrificed a buffalo and not a cow on Bakrid in June 2024 was awarded with indirect titles like justice and truth not only by Wasim Akram Tyagi and Zakir Ali but even by Mohammad Zubair. In just a few days, this group has completely changed its attitude against Shamli Police.
There is a long history of hatred
Among the five accused, the main accused Zakir Ali Tyagi and Wasim Akram keep making indecent comments and tweets against Hindus from their X handles. Zakir Ali Tyagi has tweeted about Sita and Lakshmi being torn apart in August 2020. In 2017, Zakir Ali Tyagi has also served jail time for posting an objectionable post against Yogi Adityanath. After the FIR was registered, Wasim Akram Tyagi, who is playing the victim card by wearing the garb of journalism, keeps making derogatory comments against some journalists every day.
