Kolkata: CBI investigation is going on in different cases of RG Kar Hospital. The CBI team again questioned former principal of Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College, Sandeep Ghosh on Friday. Sandeep Ghosh summoned the CBI for the 14th consecutive day in connection with the investigation of the rape and murder of a trainee doctor. Officials said that the agency has already questioned Ghosh for more than 140 hours. Apart from this heinous crime, Ghosh is also under the agency’s radar in the financial scam case in the hospital, in which the officials have already registered an FIR against him and other institutions. Agency officials also searched the former principal’s residence last Sunday and questioned him.
According to jail sources, Kolkata rape and murder case accused Sanjay Roy has expressed his anger over the jail food. Sanjay Roy asked a jail employee what is for dinner tonight? The answer comes, roti-sabzi. After hearing this answer, Sanjay Roy expressed his anger. He demanded that he be allowed to eat egg chowmein at night. However, the jail rules say that whatever food is prepared for all the prisoners, everyone has to eat the same food.
That is why Sanjay Roy’s demand for chowmein was not fulfilled. According to jail sources, when roti and vegetables were served to Sanjay at night, he was still angry about it, but after being scolded by the jail staff, he ate the food. Earlier, when Sanjay Roy was brought to jail from CBI custody, he pleaded with the jail staff to let him sleep peacefully. He was also mumbling sometimes. However, after a few days, he has returned to his normal self.
On the night of 8 August, the accused Sanjay Roy raped and then murdered a trainee doctor at Kolkata’s RG Kar Hospital. After this case came to light, doctors across the country went on strike and demanded security for doctors.
