Dalit leader Udit Raj invites Akash Anand to join Congress, says Mayawati has ‘BJPised’ BSP-OxBig News Network

Dalit leader Udit Raj invited Akash Anand to join the Congress, alleging that Mayawati has “BJPised” the BSP and strengthened the BJP.

Raj, a former MP and prominent figure in the Dalit movement, accused Mayawati of betraying the party’s principles and claimed that her actions have directly benefited the BJP in Uttar Pradesh.

“Now that the BSP has been BJPised, we cannot remain silent,” Raj stated.

“The people who gave birth and strength to the BSP were poor Dalits and employees. They were shown the dream of making them rulers, and with this feeling and goal in mind, the workers kept sacrificing.” He emphasised that the BSP was not built with the money of the rich.

“As soon as they got power, they forgot everything,” he said, adding that “they insulted the leadership promoted by Kanshi Ram ji and finally showed them the way out.” Raj argued that the movement, founded on the principles of Dr BR Ambedkar, has now begun to move in the opposite direction. He pointed to the 2022 Uttar Pradesh elections, claiming that Mayawati directly indicated that the BJP should win.

He also cited the removal of Akash Anand from the post of coordinator within 24 hours after he delivered an aggressive speech against the BJP during the Lok Sabha elections.

Raj stated that Akash Anand was made coordinator of the party twice by Mayawati and then removed. “It shows that the BSP is being controlled by the BJP. Mayawati ji would not have taken such a suicidal step without pressure,” he said.

Raj further argued that if the BSP had joined the INDIA bloc for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP would not have been able to form the government at the center.

He also claimed that Mayawati helped Modi become Prime Minister, and that at least 25 seats would have been affected had she chosen the INDIA bloc.

“Akash Anand was in favour of a Congress-SP alliance in the upcoming assembly elections, which has created ripples in the BJP,” Raj said. He believes that Akash Anand was punished for this reason since the BSP is the only party whose vote bank can be dented by the BJP, and this would have been difficult if he remained in the party.
