‘Drunk Constitution writers’: Manish Sisodia slams Manoj Tiwari over misleading Arvind Kejriwal video-OxBig News Network

NEW DELHI: Aam Aadmi Party leader Manish Sisodia criticised Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Manoj Tiwari on Monday for sharing an edited video of Arvind Kejriwal, former Delhi chief minister and AAP’s national convenor.
The controversy erupted when Manoj Tiwari posted a 9-second video on X in which Kejriwal was heard saying, “Someone was saying that whoever has written the Constitution must be drunk while writing it.”

Manoj Tiwari shared the clip amidst an ongoing political debate over Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s remarks on BR Ambedkar, often referred to as the architect of the Indian Constitution.
“I found this video of the head of Delhi’s Aam Aadmi Party. After listening to it, everyone will be able to see his true colours,” wrote Manoj Tiwari, a three-time MP from North East Delhi.
Manish Sisodia in response accused Manoj Tiwari of spreading misinformation and released the full 19-second version of Kejriwal’s speech, reportedly from 12 years ago.

The extended clip clarified that Kejriwal’s comments were about the Constitution of the Congress party, not the Indian Constitution.
“Constitution of Congress party says no worker shall consume liquor. Someone amongst us said the one who wrote the Constitution must have been drunk while writing it,” Kejriwal was heard saying in the full video.
Sisodia admonished Manoj Tiwari for his post, calling him a “cheap troll.” He added, “You are an MP, have some shame. You are tweeting lies. If not yourself, at least respect the post of an MP.”
In response, Manoj Tiwari hit back, arguing for “decorum” in public debate.
“You got so angry that you called me shameless,” he said, while questioning Kejriwal’s statement.
“Manish Sisodia ji.. there should be decorum in debate.. you got so angry that you called me shameless.. Although Rahul Gandhi will also tell, but according to your leader- if the people of Congress wrote the constitution of Congress after drinking alcohol, then how can Arvind Kejriwal interpret it to mean that “whoever wrote the constitution, wrote it after drinking alcohol..!!”, Tiwari said.

He further added, “How can Arvind Kejriwal dare to say this? Is there a difference between the Constitution of India and Congress’ Constitution or not?”
The exchange comes in the wake of a broader political row over Amit Shah’s remarks during the Rajya Sabha debate marking 75 years of the Constitution. Speaking in Parliament, Mr Shah had said, “It has become a fashion to say Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar. If they took God’s name so many times, they would have got a place in heaven.”
Opposition parties, including the AAP and Congress, accused Amit Shah of disrespecting the Dalit icon, demanding his resignation and an apology. However, Amit Shah countered these claims, stating that his remarks had been misinterpreted.
