New Delhi (NEET 2024 Controversy). It is necessary to pass the NEET exam to get admission in any private and government medical college in the country. The full form of NEET is National Eligibility cum Entrance Test. This exam is held at both UG and PG levels. These days NEET UG exam is in discussion. The matter of NEET UG paper leak scam has reached the Supreme Court. Every year more than 20 lakh students appear for NEET UG exam. Then lakhs of them do MBBS from foreign medical colleges.

According to a report by Quora, currently about 7,50,000 students are studying MBBS from foreign medical colleges. To do MBBS from abroad, Indian students turn to countries like Russia, China, Kazakhstan etc. But do you know why every year lakhs of students go abroad to study medicine? Surprisingly, many of them are NEET qualified and some have also scored good marks in NEET exam (NEET Result).

Medical Education: MBBS: India or Abroad?

Engineering, Management, Medical.. Talking about these 3 courses, most of the students of medical field go abroad for studies. Every year, there is a huge increase in the number of people doing MBBS from abroad. Many reasons are given for this.

1- Studying MBBS abroad is cheaper- Doing MBBS abroad is cheaper than studying in Indian medical colleges. In some Indian medical colleges, the fees for MBBS reaches crores, while some foreign medical colleges provide complete education in between 10 lakhs and 50 lakhs.

2- Getting admission is easy- Admission in private and government medical colleges of India is given only after passing NEET. Even after passing NEET with good marks, many students are not able to get admission in top medical colleges. At the same time, it is easy to get admission in medical colleges abroad.

3- Career will be made by qualifying NEET- Some foreign medical colleges give admission to those Indian students who have just qualified NEET. They do not put any requirement of being a top scorer in it.

4- Seats fall short- According to some media reports, only one out of every 11 students who pass NEET gets a seat in a medical college. In such a situation, other students are left with only 2-3 options- they can go abroad, take a drop of one year, or take admission under some quota.

Abroad MBBS: What is the future after MBBS from abroad?

It is not easy to make a career in India after studying medicine from abroad. To practice medicine in India, it is necessary to pass the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination i.e. FMGE. Without this, no foreign returned medical graduate can get a license to practice medicine. This exam is very difficult. Only a few students are able to pass it. In such a situation, they start practicing in the same countries or waste many years and remain busy preparing for FMGE.

New Medical Colleges: New medical colleges are opening

There is a huge gap between the number of seats and the number of claimants in Indian medical colleges. To fill this gap, more than 100 new medical colleges are being opened in the country. Now, nothing can be said about how many of these will get recognition and how many will be rejected. But the fact is that with the opening of so many medical colleges, it will become easier for students to study MBBS from India. They will not have to go abroad due to lack of seats.
