Ajith Kumar’s Good Bad Ugly records strong advance sales of over Rs 9 crore

Ajith Kumar’s Good Bad Ugly has made a strong start with over Rs 9.26 crore in advance bookings, largely driven by Tamil Nadu’s Rs 8.63 crore. With high occupancy rates and numerous fast-filling shows, the film is set for a significant opening, potentially bolstered by positive early reviews. The film competes with Sunny Deol’s Jaat releasing on the same date.

Ajith Kumar’s upcoming action-drama Good Bad Ugly is off to a promising start at the box office, with advance booking numbers indicating strong interest, particularly in Tamil Nadu. Scheduled to release on April 10, 2025, the film has already grossed over Rs 9.26 crore in India through advance bookings, including blocked seats as per Track BO.

Tamil Nadu leads the charge, unsurprisingly, with a massive Rs 8.63 crore gross from 2,263 shows. The occupancy stands at a healthy 49.38%, with 400,637 tickets already sold. The film has also registered 726 fast-filling and 248 houseful shows in the state alone — a clear indication of Ajith’s loyal fan base turning out in full force. When excluding blocked seats, the estimated gross in Tamil Nadu still remains impressive at Rs 7.86 crore, showcasing strong organic interest.
Other southern states have contributed modestly. Karnataka has collected around Rs 46.5 lakh from 92 shows, with nearly 11,700 tickets sold and 20 fast-filling/houseful shows reported. Kerala has seen Rs 14.8 lakh in advance gross with 8,896 tickets sold from 161 shows, reflecting a more muted response but still contributing to the film’s overall momentum.
Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, typically strongholds for Telugu releases, have shown minimal traction with combined advance grosses under Rs 1.27 lakh. However, this could change closer to the release date, depending on word-of-mouth and early reviews.
In total, the film has clocked 2,534 shows across India, with 760 fast-filling and 253 houseful shows reported — a solid sign for any big-ticket Tamil release. Excluding blocked seats, the actual gross stands at Rs 8.31 crore, with real occupancy at 40.63% from 4.21 lakh tickets sold.
Good Bad Ugly is shaping up to be another big box office moment for Ajith Kumar. While Tamil Nadu remains its strongest base, the overall buzz and advance sales indicate that the film is headed toward a big opening day, especially if it garners positive early reactions.
The film will be clashing with Sunny Deol’s Jaat which is also releasing on the same date, though being a Hindi film- the makers behind the film are from Southern India. The film also features Randeep Hooda and Viineet Kumar Siingh in antagonist roles.
