Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2 looks set to break RRR’s first day record in Hindi | Hindi Movie News

Post the success of SS Rajamouli and Prabhas’ Bahubali series in Hindi, there have been a spate of Telugu films that have managed to crossover successfully with examples like Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire, Kalki 2898 AD and RRR. All eyes are now set on Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2- The Rule after the immense success of its first part.
The film is slated for release on 5th December, and going by the advance booking, it is all set to bring in huge number of audience to the theaters. As per Sacnilk, the film has currently sold tickets worth Rs 41 crore, without block bookings and with it, the number jumps up to Rs 55.61 crore.
As far as Hindi market is concerned, the film has currently minted Rs 18.29 crore from its 2D, 3D and Imax version. With less than 2 days to go for the film’s release, it looks primed to cross the Rs 20 crore mark, thus breaking Ram Charan and NTR Jr’s record of Rs 20.07 crore. And if the word of mouth for the film picks up, it would be able to beat the numbers of Kalki 2898 AD (Rs 22.5 crore), the third biggest hit of Telugu Cinema.
However, it seems unlikely that Pushpa 2 will be able to beat the opening day numbers of SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2- The Conclusion. The film had collected Rs 41 crore in Hindi on its first day, while its total day 1 collection was Rs 121 crore. Baahubali 2 went on to collect Rs 1030 crore at the end of its theatrical window, out of which Rs 511 crore was contributed by the Hindi version. Till date, no other film from south has been able to breach that record.
