Amita Nangia says Kareena Kapoor was ‘reserved’ and Bipasha Basu was ‘not friendly’: ‘They fought over costumes during Ajnabee’ |

In a 2005 Koffee with Karan episode, Bipasha Basu admitted to her feud with Kareena Kapoor Khan during Ajnabee. Recently, co-actor Amita Nangia revealed the tension was caused by a disagreement over costumes.
In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Amita Nangia shared that Kareena Kapoor Khan and Bipasha Basu’s feud was related to their costumes, as both wanted the same designer. When asked if it affected others, she said they just heard about it on set and reacted. Ajnabee was Bipasha’s debut, while it was Kareena’s fourth film.

Amita described Kareena as reserved but friendly, though she found it hard to connect with her since Kareena often had her mother around. They did share some conversations during the shoot. On the other hand, she found Bipasha Basu less approachable, as the newcomer was fully focused on herself.

In 2005, Bipasha Basu discussed her relationship with Kareena Kapoor Khan on Koffee with Karan. She revealed that while they initially spoke during the first schedule of Ajnabee, things changed later when Kareena stopped talking to her. Bipasha preferred this honesty over hypocrisy and said they still worked professionally without issues.
Ajnabee featured Akshay Kumar and Bobby Deol in lead roles. After this film, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Bipasha Basu were both cast in Vishal Bhardwaj’s Omkara, but they didn’t have any scenes together.
