Fans are eagerly anticipating the release of the horror comedy ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3‘, and Vidya Balan’s comeback as Manjulika after 17 years is one of the highlights of the film. In a recent chat, director Anees Bazmee opened up about the behind-the-scenes story of how he convinced Vidya to join the project and shared her response when she first heard the script.
While talking to Pinkvilla, Anees discussed the casting of Vidya Balan as Manjulika, emphasizing his conviction that she was the ideal choice for the role.He noted her immense popularity and outstanding performance in the previous film, stating, “Mujhe toh hamesha lag raha tha ki yeh Manjulika agar Vidya ji kar le. Kyunki itna unko pyaar mila us film ke andar.” He also mentioned that they share a strong friendship.

Anees recounted how they approached Vidya Balan for the role, expressing their luck that she loved the script. “She said, ‘Maine jo kahaniyan suni hain, unmein ek hi kahani hai jo mujhe bahut achi lagti hai,’” he stated.
During the narration, which lasted about ten minutes, Anees was eager to gauge her reaction. After hearing the story, she expressed her excitement, stating, “Bahut maza aayega.”

Anees revealed that after a follow-up meeting about 10 to 15 days later, they provided Vidya Balan with a full narration of the film. He felt that within the first ten minutes, she had already made up her mind and was emotionally invested in the project. His understanding of her commitment was confirmed when she decided to officially join the film after hearing the complete narration. This demonstrates Vidya’s quick connection to the story and her enthusiasm for the role.
Anees concluded, “Isse accha kya ho sakta hai ki ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ mein yeh 17 saal baad wapas aayi. Bahut khoobsurat kaam kiya hai unhone film ke andar.”
‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ will hit theaters on November 1.
