‘Maareesan’ trailer: Fahadh Faasil is a thief who targets Vadivelu in this intriguing road thriller-OxBig News Network

The trailer of the upcoming Tamil thriller film, Maareesan, starring Fahadh Faasil and Vadivelu, was unveiled by the makers on Monday (July 14). Written by V Krishna Moorthy and directed by Sudheesh Sankar, the film marks a reunion between the two actors after their acclaimed 2023 film Maamannan.

The trailer introduces Fahadh Faasil as a thief, who says he is intrigued by how a fish swimming under the water became prey to a crane flying above in the sky. In a surprising turn of events, he sets his eyes on a middle-aged man (Vadivelu) carrying loads of money on a trip to Thiruvannamalai. The catch? The man seems to be an Alzheimer’s patient, who has forgotten even his Debit Card’s ATM pin, making it all the more difficult for Fahadh’s thief to steal from him.

Like the previously released teaser, which hinted at a breezy, feel-good road film turning into a thriller, the trailer too promises an intriguing blend of genres.

Maareesan also features Vivek Prasanna, Kovai Sarala and PL Thenappan playing pivotal roles. Sithara, Livingston, Renuka, Saravana Subbiah, Krishna, Haritha, and Telephone Raja are also part of the cast.

With music scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja, the film has cinematography by Kalaiselvan Sivaji and editing by Sreejith Sarang. Produced by RB Choudhary under his Super Good Films banner, the film is set to release in theatres on July 25.
