Ranbir Kapoor shares ‘Brahmastra 2’, ‘Love & War’ updates at Alia Bhatt’s pre-birthday celebration-OxBig News Network

Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor on Thursday hosted a special celebration ahead of his wife and star Alia Bhatt’s 32nd birthday. At the event, the couple interacted with the media and shared updates on their upcoming film Love & War as well as the much-anticipated sequel to their blockbuster film Brahmastra.

The actor said that director Ayaan Mukerji is currently working on the Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR-starrer War 2, and that the pre-production for Brahmastra 2 will begin after the release of the action film. “Brahmastra 2 is something that Ayan has been nurturing as a dream for a very long time. As you all know, he is currently working on War 2 and once it releases, he will start pre-production of Brahmastra 2,” said Ranbir.

Brahmastra is a fantasy action-adventure trilogy of films inspired by the Hindu mythology. The first part, released in 2022, called Shiva, featured Ranbir and Alia alongside Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy and Nagarjuna. Shah Rukh Khan appeared in a special cameo.

“It [Brahmastra 2] is definitely happening. We haven’t really announced much of it, but there are some really interesting announcements coming up regarding Brahmastra 2,” added Ranbir.

Further, Ranbir was asked on his experience working on Love & War, co-starring Alia and Vicky Kaushal, which marks his reunion with Sanjay Leela Bhansali. “Love & War I think, is every actor’s dream: to work with brilliant actors like Alia and Vicky, and to be directed under the master, Sanjay Leela Bhansali. I had worked with him 17 years ago, and to work with him again… I can say this with so much clarity that I have never met a human being who works so hard, who understands characters, emotions, music, Indian culture, and Indian value system as much as Sanjay Leela Bhansali,” said Ranbir, adding that being on Bhansali’s set can be tiring. “The process can be a little daunting, but eventually, as artists, it is so satisfying because he really nurtures art. And as actors, it’s really been truly amazing so far.”

Ranbir, Alia urge papparazzi to respect daughter Raha’s privacy

Meanwhile, the star couple also urged media houses and photographers to refrain from clicking pictures or from promoting unauthorised images of their two-year-old daughter Raha Kapoor.

“Born and raised in Bombay, and the industry, all of you guys are family. It’s not that there’s a requirement for us to take a legal route, all of you guys are like family. Whenever we have something to inform you of, you guys are always receptive. I think we all work together and give our word to each other, it’s not like ‘we’ll file a case against them.’ If we have invited all of you over, we’re looking forward to this because it’s for the betterment of our child,” said Ranbir

“It might sound like a very privileged problem, I understand that, but we, as parents, are trying our very best to protect our child. Holding a smartphone in hand, anyone can do anything and post it, and it will spread like wildfire. That is not in our control, but you are like our family. We can request you and you can help us to achieve this,” he added.

Stating that her worst nightmare is “someone breaking in and taking Raha,” Alia said that they don’t want to take legal action against anyone, and that they just want the cooperation of the paparazzi. “We don’t want to push any action against anyone. But if somebody is not listening to us repeatedly, we are left with no other option.”

Recalling the incident in which Alia was photographed inside her home, Ranbir said, “I understand that we are actors and that there’s some kind of curiosity about actors, but that cannot cross a line.”

When asked about the scenario where the couple are at an airport with their daughter, Alia said, “Let the child move first and then you can take pictures of us. If you get a picture of Raha some way, please hide it under an emoji before sharing on social media.”
