However, viewers felt that eventually, the actor made the right call by stepping aside when he saw Ravi Kishan’s audition for the same role. Many online wrote that Ravi’s performance was better, or at least, more fitting for the rustic character. On Thursday, a Faebook meme page shared images of the two actors in their Shyam Manohar look and wrote alongside, “Aamir Khan auditioned for Ravi Kishan’s role in Laapataa Ladies but didn’t take the role because Ravi Kishan’s audition was better!”
A few hours later, Ravi Kishan shared the post on his official Facebook handle. Later, Ravi Kishan also shared a video with the caption: “Aamir Khan auditioned for Ravi Kishan’s role in Laapataa Ladies but was rejected.” In the comments, fans praised Ravi’s performance and agreed that they felt he was indeed better. “The best thing is that Aamir Khan, who is called Mr Perfectionist, also admitted that you were better,” wrote one. Another commented, “You were the best suited for the role, and justified it.”
