Earlier this month, Sanjay Kapoor and Maheep Kapoor’s daughter Shanaya Kapoor finally shared a teaser of her debut film. Titled Tu Yaa Main, the Aanand L Rai movie also stars the very versatile Adarsh Gourav, who worked with Shanaya’s childhood BFF Ananya Panday in Kho Gaye Hum Kahan (2023). The fun teaser won the internet over, promising us a chilling and thrilling roller-coaster ride with a twist in the end. Fans were obviously left excited and predicted that Shanaya would outdo her contemporary star kids. Well, latest buzz now suggests that Shanaya has already signed two more projects, one of which features her in a double role.
Shanaya Kapoor will be seen in a double role
Not many actors would experiment with a double role so early in their careers. But according to a report shared by Filmfare, Shanaya Kapoor has taken up the challenge in the third stand-alone instalment of Karan Johar’s Student of the Year franchise. Yes, you read that right. A source revealed, “This would be a bold move for Shanaya, allowing her to showcase her versatility right from her early films. Even though SOTY 3 will come out after her other releases, this could very well be her career highlight.” The star kid will reportedly be seen in two contrasting avatars in SOTY 3. Well, the franchise has been lucky for many star kids in the past, such as Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Tiger Shroff and Ananya Panday. Apart from Student of the Year 3, buzz suggests that Shanaya has also bagged a film with Munjya fame Abhay Verma.
Last year, Abhay made his Bollywood debut with Munjya, the third instalment in the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe. Well, after hearing her upcoming line up, netizens have extremely high expectations from Shanaya. Gushing about her bright future in the industry, one social media user shared, “The real underdog. We all underestimated her fate and overestimated Suhana’s,” whereas another netizen stated, “Damn Shanaya whoever your agent is I hope you’re paying them well. It sounds like she’s doing work opposite good actors in better scripts. Naturally she’ll come across better than the other nepokids who did shit like Archie’s and nadaaniyan. Seems like she’ll benefit alot from her strategy.” Referring to her actor cousins Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor, another internet user claimed, “So Shanaya seems to have watched, and watched and actually learned. She’s collecting ace co-stars like pokemon. Girl will out do her cousins.”
