‘Vidyapati’ trailer: Nagabhushana’s comedy drama promises a quirky David vs Goliath story-OxBig News Network

The makers of Vidyapatihave released a trailer for the film. The Kannada movie, directed by Esham and Haseen Khan, stars Nagabhushana in the lead.

The comedy drama is produced by actor Dhananjaya under his banner Daali Pictures. Malaika Vasupal plays the female lead in the movie. Vidyapati hits the screens on April 10, 2025.

The trailer opens with the introduction of a popular Kannada cinema heroine, essayed by Malaika. Nagabhushana plays the role of the heroine’s husband, who lives a lavish life, thanks to the earnings from his highly-successful wife.

Their relationship takes a hit when Nagabhushana’s character fails to hit back at a gang of thugs who attacks the couple one day. Angered at his inability to make his wife feel safe, the protagonist joins a karate training centre to take revenge on the villain, essayed by Garuda Ram of KGF fame.

The film promises to be a quirky David vs Goliath story with the idea of an underdog eyeing an improbable revenge. Dhananjaya essays a mysterious character named Anaconda. Lavith has done the cinematography of the movie while DOSSMODE is the music director.

Esham and Haseen had made the hilarious lockdown drama Ikkat (2021), starring Nagabhushana and Bhoomi Shetty. Nagabhushana was last seen in the comedy drama Tagaru Palya (2023), produced by Dhananjaya.
