Coldplay frontman Chris Martin made a rather quirky arrival in Ahmedabad city, ahead of the band’s highly anticipated concert, scheduled for January 25 and 26.
The singer, who won hearts of his Mumbai fans for casually strolling around the place, did it again in Ahmedabad when he joined a fan for a joy ride on a scooter. Fans were treated to an unexpected behind-the-scenes moment when Coldplay’s official Instagram shared a video of Martin riding pillion on a scooter through an empty street.
In the video, the singer is seen smiling from ear-to-ear as he hitched a ride on the scooter, exclaiming, “What the heck!” as the scooter picks up speed. The video was posted with the caption, “Arriving in Ahmedabad.”
Expressing his excitement ahead of this evening’s gig, Martin shared a heartfelt message in a note that read, “It is such a pleasure to be here and play in Ahmedabad for the very first time.”
He also offered fans a glimpse of his view from the stage set-up.

The Ahmedabad leg of Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres World Tour has sparked massive fan excitement, with the Gujarat Police leaving no stone unturned to ensure the security and smooth functioning of the event. Over 3,800 police personnel have reportedly been deployed in the area, along with metal detectors, bomb squad, members of the crime branch and 400 CCTV cameras monitoring the venue.

Speaking to ANI, Joint Commissioner of Police Neeraj Kumar Badgujar detailed the extensive safety measures, which include special barricading and thorough individual checks at the entrance. “Plainclothes officers, including female police staff, will also be stationed to maintain crowd safety,” Badgujar added.

Chris Martin and his band kicked off their tour with concerts in Mumbai last weekend. While in the city, the star made the most of his trip by playing the perfect tourist and heading out on long walks with his girlfriend, actress Dakota Johnson.
