A new AI-driven trend is captivating social media as fans reimagine iconic Bollywood and Hollywood scenes in the whimsical style of Studio Ghibli films. Using ChatGPT’s latest model, GPT-4o, fans have been tweeting images that blend the magical worlds of Hayao Miyazaki with beloved cinematic moments, creating rather impressive visual crossovers.
From the Bollywood classics like Sholay to the Allu Arjun blockbuster Pushpa franchise and the romantic favourites like DDLJ, Jab We Met, and Om Shanti Om, these AI-generated artworks have gone viral online with fans going gaga over their favourite characters’ transformation into Ghibli-style avatars.

Among the fan creations, Paresh Rawal, Akshay Kumar, and Suniel Shetty from Hera Pheri appear in an animated Ghibli-inspired world. Rajpal Yadav’s Chhote Pandit from Bhool Bhulaiyaa is reimagined with a mystical charm. Meanwhile, Prabhas’ Shivudu from Baahubali carrying the Shivling made it to the Ghibli universe with his ripped abs. Allu Arjun’s Pushpa Raj also featured in his iconic “Jhukega nahi saala” pose.
Other Bollywood classics reinterpreted in this style include Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone‘s Om Shanti Om, Aamir Khan’s 3 Idiots, and Sanjay Dutt’s Munna Bhai among many others.

Hollywood fans also embraced the viral trend, sharing Ghibli-style renditions of major franchises and films. Iconic scenes from Star Wars, The Godfather, The Lord of the Rings, Jurassic World, and Harry Potter have all received the AI makeover, blending Western cinematic classics with a soft new light.

Perhaps the most impressive of all was an entire 1.52 minute trailer of the ‘Lord of the Ring’ that was recreated with a Ghibli makeover, fusing the world of JRR Tolkien with the stunning and mesmerising visuals of Hayao Miyazaki.
