Akshay Kumar‘s film ‘Kesari Chapter 2’ has just hit the screens. The film has the backdrop of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre and is expected and Akshay plays the real life character of Sankaran Nair in the film. Akshay is known for being one of the highest paid actors in the industry. Has he charged a whopping fee for the film? Here’s what we know.
According to Forbes, Rs 60 crore to Rs 145 crore per film and seemingly, he has charged in the same bracket for ‘Kesari 2’, but it depends on the scale of the movie. Last year, during a chat with Hindustan Times, however, the actor had admitted that he doesn’t charge salaries lately but takes profit share in his films.
He had said, “I agree with most of what he said. If we sign a film today, we don’t charge anything; we just take a stake. If it works, we get a share in the profit, but if it doesn’t, we don’t get any money.”
Given his statement, it is likely that Akshay Kumar also opted for profit-sharing for Kesari 2 instead of charging a fixed fee. But the actor has not yet confirmed this.
Reportedly, for his role in the last released film, Sky Force, Akshay Kumar charged around Rs 70 crore. Back in April last year, Financial Express also talked about the actor’s remuneration and said that Akshay was paid Rs 80 crore for playing the lead role in Bade Miyan Chote Miyan.
