In a surprising twist to the social media feud involving Hansal Mehta and Kangana Ranaut, the director has now spoken about his professional relationship with the actress. Praising the ‘Queen’ star’s immense talent, Mehta, admitted in an interview that he is still fond of her and recognises her incredible presence on screen.

Acknowledging that the camera simply loves Kangana, Hansal said to Indian Express, “I am very fond of her. I cannot describe… the camera loves her. Outside the Lok Sabha, camera loves her. Even she is not aware what magic she can create in front of the camera. We did not get along, humari nahi bani, hota hai (we couldn’t bond, it happens). I did not get along with my ex-wife also. While his remark may come as a surprise, the director reflected on his difficult experience while working with Kangana on the 2017 film ‘Simran’. He recalled how the process was not the best for him and admitted, “We do fight, but I am fond of her. Very fond of her. It is not a judgment on the other person. The process of making the film that I did with her was not very good. The process stays with you. I had to pay off debts. And it was a bit of a painful journey paying off those debts. Her fans tell me that it was the best film you have made.”

Hansal and Kangana’s recent social media feud
A few days ago, Hansal and Kangana clashed on X (formerly Twitter) over comedian Kunal Kamra’s stand-up act. The director, in his tweet, criticised an abusive tweet targeting Kunal. In response, someone questioned his silence on the demolition of Kangana’s house. To this, Hansal replied, “Was her house vandalised? Did goons enter her premises? Did they do this to challenge her freedom of expression or for alleged FSI violations? Please enlighten me. Maybe I don’t know the facts.”
Kangana hit back by resharing his tweet and criticising him, saying she had faced abuse and watched her house being torn down. She also called Hansal “bitter and stupid.”
