‘KD teaser’: Dhruva Sarja takes on Sanjay Dutt in Prem’s action bloodfest-OxBig News Network

The makers of KD have released a teaser for the movie. The highly anticipated action drama, starring Dhruva Sarja and directed by Prem, is likely to release in September 2025.

The Kannada film, produced by Venkat K Narayan of KVN Productions, will be dubbed in Tamil, Malayalam, Hindi and Telugu. The makers unveiled the teaser during an event in Mumbai on July 10, 2025.

In the teaser, Dhruva Sarja’s character is seen in several action sequences. The actor is set to play the role of Kaali Dasa in the movie. Sanjay Dutt plays the antagonist, called Dhak Dev.

The film seems like a violent action drama. As per reports, the movie, set in the 1970s, is a gangster drama based on a true story.

The ensemble cast of KD includes Shilpa Shetty, V Ravichandran, Reshma Nanaiah and Ramesh Aravind. Arjun Janya is the music director of the movie while Mohan B Kere has handled the art direction. William David is the cinematographer.

Dhruva Sarja last worked in Martin, the patriotic action thriller directed by AP Arjun. Produced by Uday K Mehta, Martin failed to set the box office on fire.

The Hindu review of the movie said, “Dhruva Sarja’s performance is a double-edged sword to the film’s prospects. While portraying a character with anti-hero elements, his acting is marked by exaggerated behaviour.

“Perhaps that was the brief from the director, but the result isn’t satisfying. His intense dialogue delivery gives us a glimpse of a gifted actor, yet his portrayal of a deadly man in some scenes is too hard to digest.”
