A new poster for ‘Maareesan’

Malayalam star Fahadh Faasil stars alongside veteran comedic actor Vadivelu in the upcoming Tamil film Maareesan. The makers shared a new poster of the film and revealed its release window. Directed by Sudheesh Sankar, the film will release in July this year.

The poster depicts Faasil and Vadivelu’s characters staring each other down. While Faasil sweats profusely, Vadivelu has a bruised nose and blood streaking down his face. The film appears to promise an intense stand-off between the acclaimed actors.

Yuvan Shankar Raja has composed the music of Maareesan. The film is backed by Super Good Films.

Vadivelu and Fahadh Faasil had featured together in Mari Selvaraj’s Maamannan (2023).

Fahadh, who went up in a blaze as IPS Shekhawat in the megahit Pushpa 2: The Rule, has multiple exciting projects lined up. He will star alongside Kalyani Priyadarshan in the Malayalam film Odum Kuthira Chadum Kuthira. Another Malayalam film, Karate Chandran, from the makers of Premalu, is in the offing from the actor.

In Telugu, he has Oxygen and Don’t Trouble The Trouble, directed by debutants Siddhartha Nadella and Shashank Yeleti respectively. Both films are backed by Arka Mediaworks and Showing Business, the banners behind SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali franchise.
