The official trailer launch event for L2: Empuraan is set to take place in Mumbai today, following its midnight digital release. Held at the IMAX Screen in Inorbit Mall, Malad, the event will see the presence of lead actor Mohanlal, director-actor Prithviraj Sukumaran, Manju Warrier, Indrajith Sukumaran, and producers Gokulam Gopalan and Anthony Perumbavoor. Writer Murali Gopy is also expected to share insights into the much-anticipated sequel.

A follow-up to the 2019 blockbuster Lucifer, L2: Empuraan expands on the political thriller’s universe, diving deeper into the life of Mohanlal’s Stephen Nedumpally. The film is produced by Aashirvad Cinemas in association with Lyca Productions and is said to be one of the most ambitious projects in Malayalam cinema, featuring large-scale action sequences, filmed across multiple international locations.

The newly released trailer teases an plot centered on power struggles, crime syndicates, and hidden identities. It introduces new and returning characters, including Tovino Thomas as Jathin Ramdas, Suraj Venjaramoodu, and Nikhat Khan in pivotal political roles. The action-packed visuals feature Mohanlal’s Stephen Nedumpally — now known as Khuresh Ab’raam — at the center of it all. The trailer closes with Indrajith Sukumaran’s character questioning Stephen’s true identity, prompting Mohanlal’s single-word response: “Lucifer”.

With L2: Empuraan slated for release on March 27, today’s launch event is expected to shed more light on the film’s storyline, characters, and production scale.
