Rajinikanth-Lokesh Kanagaraj’s ‘Coolie’ wraps up shoot; BTS shows Muthuvel Pandian in an intense action scene-OxBig News Network

Tamil superstar Rajinikanth’s upcoming film, Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, has wrapped up shoot, the makers announced on Monday (March 17).

Sun Pictures, the banner backing the film, released behind-the-scenes footage from the film that shows the superstar as his character Muthuval Pandian, along with the rest of the cast. In one of the shots, we can see Muthuvel stand in front of the camera after thrashing the baddies in what one can safely assume to be an intense action scene.

Announced in September 2023, Coolie has been in the making since last year. In April 2024, the makers revealed the film’s title with a special video featuring Rajinikanth. In the video, the superstar utters a famous dialogue from his 1982 film Ranga.

The film’s cast also features Upendra, Akkineni Nagarjuna, Pooja Hegde, Soubin Shahir, Sathyaraj, and Shruti Haasan. According to reports, Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan is also part of the cast.

Anirudh Ravichander is composing music for the movie, while Girish Gangadharan is the cinematographer. Anbariv is in charge of the stunt choreography.

Lokesh had previously confirmed that Coolie will not be part of his popular film universe called the Lokesh Cinematic Universe, which includes movies such as Kaithi, Vikram and Leo.
