Hrithik Roshan has completed 25 years in the industry. The actor, who made his debut with Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai, is now one of the most bankable stars of Bollywood with movies like Koi… Mil Gaya, Guzaarish, Dhoom and others.
A couple of years back, the actor opened up on playing a ‘special’ man – that of Rohit in Koi… Mil Gaya. For anyone who has grown up in the 2000s, Koi… Mil Gaya remains one of the best childhood memories. The 2003 blockbuster, starring Hrithik Roshan and Preity Zinta in lead roles, remains one of the country’s best family movies and is still remembered for the iconic alien ‘Jadoo’.

In an old interaction with Pinkvilla, Hrithik opened up on how he prepared himself to play Rohit in the movie, who was born mentally challenged due to an accident his mother (Rekha) met with when he was in her womb. Hrithik said that growing up, he did not have a ‘cool’ childhood, so he could somewhat relate with Rohit. He said that academically speaking, there was a DNA match and he took a lot from his life to play Rohit. He said that he had experienced bullying when he was in school and had a stutter, so life had already given him the vulnerability that the character needed.

He further added that this, he thought was a great lesson in his life. He said that he found his calling from the movie and that once on set, the mask of a star and an actor would vanish.

He also said that it took him some 6 to 7 hours to read the script because after every 2-3 pages, he used to sit and cry. He felt a lot for the film and told his father (director Rakesh Roshan) that it was a mind blowing script.
Hrithik’s last release was Fighter in 2024, opposite Deepika Padukone. He will soon be seen in War 2.
