New Delhi: After the death of Sushant Singh Rajput, Rhea Chakraborty faced media trial and online trolling. In a recent conversation with Humans of Bombay, she opened up about facing media scrutiny and trolling. She revealed that she was ‘forced’ to choose the path of forgiveness for her peace of mind. She also talked about wedding plans and why she is no longer bothered by trolls. Rhea Chakraborty said, “Initially I did not think that I would have forgiveness in my heart for whatever happened. But it turned out to be the easier way because I was very angry for a long time. Due to anger, I had stomach problems and acidity.
I suffered very badly from acidity for almost three years. Forgiveness became the only option. I was almost forced to walk on the path of forgiveness.” Rhea Chakraborty also admitted that she has not forgiven everyone. The actress said, “If I say completely honestly, I have not forgiven everyone. Some people are on my hit list. If it so happens that my life takes me to a place where I am not powerless and I am able to muster the power and influence needed to set things right, then I will set things right.” Rhea, who was then dating Sushant Singh Rajput, was arrested in September 2020 for allegedly procuring drugs for him. But she was granted bail after spending 28 days in Byculla jail.
She has been facing constant trolling on social media since Sushant’s death and how she has learnt to ignore it. Reflecting on it, the actress said, “Today the most famous people in the world are the most trolled people. I still get trolled. They call me names like witch, black magician, naagin but I don’t really care. It used to bother me earlier and I used to think. Why don’t they like me?! What have I done?
Then I realised they just have hatred in their hearts and that’s their problem but trolls are fine at least they amplify my comments.” Chakraborty is rumoured to be dating businessman Nikhil Kamath and the two were recently spotted together on a bike ride in Mumbai. Talking about her wedding plans, she said, “First of all, there is no right age for marriage. I am at a stage where I don’t even want to get married. Why does one need to get married? Why should this pressure be only on women? Men don’t feel this pressure. You can just freeze your eggs when it comes to the biological clock. I don’t think being a man’s wife can satisfy you.”
