Ira Khan advised Aamir Khan against ‘extreme decisions’ when he contemplated quitting Bollywood after Laal Singh Chadha failure: ‘He just needs to chill’ | Hindi Movie News

Aamir Khan’s daughter, Ira Khan, recently revealed how she supported her father when he contemplated quitting Bollywood.
Speaking on the Pinkvilla Podcast, Ira shared her advice during a critical phase in Aamir’s life when the actor was thinking about stepping away from films in the wake of the pandemic and the lukewarm response to Laal Singh Chaddha in 2022.
Ira recalled that her family, including her brother Junaid Khan, encouraged Aamir to reconsider his drastic decision. She shared, “We told him he doesn’t need to make extreme decisions. He just needs to chill, take a deep breath, and decide next week.”
In the interim, Aamir was at Ira’s mental health initiative, Agatsu. Ira humorously recalls how she opened up to him about her problems, expecting solutions, only for him to reply, “I don’t know what to do.” However, Aamir later joined Agatsu’s advisory board and has remained involved to some extent.
Reflecting on this time, Ira believes her father’s visit to Agatsu may have inspired him to return to films. “He thought, ‘No, no, work. I’ll just go back to making films.’”
Since his return, Aamir has been back in the industry and is working on a few projects. His upcoming film is Sitaare Zameen Par, with Genelia D’Souza and Darsheel Safary. He is also in talks with Lokesh Kanagaraj for a potential superhero film that is going to start shooting in 2026. In addition, Aamir is producing Lahore 1947, starring Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta.
