Superstar Kamal Haasan has determined to increase the hole between the theatrical and OTT launch of his upcoming movie Thug Life, saying it was a practical factor to do.
The hole between the theatrical run and OTT launch of flicks has been lowering over time with many choosing a four-week window over the standard eight-week delay between a movie’s theatrical launch and its arrival on streamers.
At a promotional occasion for the Mani Ratnam-directed film right here, Haasan expressed hope that his initiative would encourage others within the trade to undertake an analogous strategy.
“It shouldn’t be even an experiment, it is a pragmatic factor to do. I’m glad that the OTT (Netflix) agreed. It’s a plan that perhaps others may observe.
“It will make the trade wholesome and we’re glad that we have been the primary to be there to avail of that chance,” Haasan instructed reporters right here.
The film reunites the Tamil celebrity with Ratnam after 35 years. The duo final collaborated on the 1987 crucial hit “Nayakan”.
In Thug Life, Haasan essays the position of Rangaraya Sakthivel Nayakar, a person caught between crime and justice.
