Lakshmi Daggubati, Nagarjuna’s first wife and Naga Chaitanya’s mother, comes from an affluent background. After their separation post-Chaitanya’s birth, Nagarjuna married actress Amala Mukherjee. Lakshmi’s illustrious family history adds to her fascinating story.
An interior designer, Lakshmi is the daughter of renowned filmmaker Daggubati Ramanaidu, founder of Suresh Productions. She is the sister of veteran Telugu actor Venkatesh and producer Daggubati Suresh Babu. Her nephew is actor Rana Daggubati, making her part of an influential cinematic family.

Lakshmi Daggubati married Nagarjuna in 1984, and they welcomed their son, Naga Chaitanya, in 1986. However, their marriage ended in 1990, marking the end of their brief union.
In 1992, Nagarjuna married actress Amala, and they have a son, Akhil Akkineni. Lakshmi Daggubati later remarried businessman Sharath Vijayaraghavan, a corporate executive at Sundaram Motors, and moved to the USA. She also launched her own venture, Lakshmi Interiors.
Lakshmi’s second marriage reportedly did not sit well with Naga Chaitanya, leading to speculation that he distanced himself from her. However, Chaitanya refuted these claims, explaining that while his work keeps him in Hyderabad, he visits his mother in the US whenever he travels there.
