Prabhneet Singh talks about the series Swipe Crime

Prabhneet Singh, known for his nuanced performances, takes on a truly intriguing role in the latest thriller series Swipe Crime on Amazon MX Player. Playing CCD, a character from a large joint family, Prabhneet offers a refreshing portrayal of innocence mixed with under-confidence. He describes his character as someone who is always the favourite at home, yet remains hesitant and low-key in real life.

Prabhneet shared his thoughts on the name of the series, “Initially, I thought the title hinted at a crime thriller but as the series developed, I realised therewas much more to it. The show delves deep into the world of social media and dating apps, exploring their darker sides. With the rise of online fraud and fake profiles, Swipe Crime is a timely and relevant story, resonating with today’s generation.”

The show was produced by Harsh Mainra, Prabhneet Singh and Jyoti Chauhan, under the banner Versatile Motion Pictures

Meanwhile, the Diksha Singh, who is also a part of the show, said the series is a cautionary tale about the unforeseen dangers lurking in virtual spaces.

Diksha revealed, “Thankfully, I’ve never been personally involved in a dating app trap, but I did have a few unsettling experiences. Once, someone made a random WhatsApp video call and tried to display inappropriate content. It was likely an attempt to record my reaction for blackmail purposes. I never thought a random call could be so very dangerous.”
