Amid pressing national issues, the spotlight is on the controversy surrounding Samay Raina‘s comedy show India’s Got Latent. The backlash began after Ranveer Allahbadia’s problematic question about parents. The outrage escalated, resulting in FIRs against the show’s judges, including Raina, Allahbadia, Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, and Apoorva Makhija.
Apoorva Makhija faced backlash for her comment about mothers, while Jaspreet Singh got into trouble for a stereotypical remark about Kerala. The controversy didn’t stop there—reports suggest that almost all the judges from the show’s first episode have also been charged.

The country is divided over the controversy, with some opposing the stand-up community while others show support. Amid this, a video of Roadies legends Raghu Ram and Rajiv Lakshman praising Samay Raina for “breaking the wall” during a podcast at IIT Guwahati went viral on social media. The post was shared on Instagram, by the handle ‘GPlus’.

As soon as the video started doing the rounds on social media, comments poured in from all sides. While one user wrote, ‘Jokes are treated as problems and Real Problems are treated as Jokes. That’s my India!’, another one added, ‘People need to realise all this outrage isn’t just because of the joke but bcz the show was getting TOO big(like AIB)’. A user also commented, ‘That’s the reason the media is trying to ping him down’.
Samay Raina’s show features unscripted comedy with participants showcasing various talents, including stand-up. Recently, he launched an app for the show’s episodes. Reports suggest that Raina has now removed all videos from his YouTube channel.
