During the promotions of Sikandar, Salman weighed in on the ongoing discussion regarding the box office performances of Bollywood and South Indian films.
“Technically, they’re very advanced, and emotionally, they’re very evolved. They don’t pick up ideas and stories from elsewhere. They conceive their own stories. Having said that, it’s not like all the films they make in the South are good. In Bollywood, you only remember those films that work well at the box office. Wahaan bhi hafte mein 2-3 picturein banti hai, but woh kuch khaas karti nahi hai. The mantra is the same everywhere—if you make good films, they’ll work,” Salman shared with the media.

Recently, Salman and director AR Murugadoss met Aamir Khan for a fun promotional video. On Tuesday, Salman shared a teaser of the video on Instagram, showing Aamir and Salman sharing intense expressions while seated for a conversation with Murugadoss. The clip takes a dramatic turn when Aamir asks his Ghajini director to decide who, between him and Salman, is the real Sikandar.
AR Murugadoss’ fan moment with Salman Khan
At the trailer launch of Sikandar, director AR Murugadoss recalled an unforgettable moment from his early days as an assistant director.
“I was struggling as an AD long back. I wanted to watch a shoot, so I went to Prasad Studios in Chennai. I requested the security guard to let me in. He allowed me on two conditions—I had to stand in a corner and could not talk to anyone. He gave me 20 minutes. After that, I had to leave,” he said.

What followed was an unexpected encounter with Salman Khan that left a lasting impression on Murugadoss. “I entered and saw Sridevi on set. Then suddenly, I saw a hero’s back. He was combing his hair. I tried to see who it was, and it turned out to be Salman Sir. I took a step forward, but the guard looked at me and signaled me to stop. I had to leave, but at that moment, I thought—one day, I will direct a film with him. And today, that dream has come true with Sikandar,” he shared.

Sikandar set for a grand release
Sikandar also stars Sathyaraj in a pivotal role and is expected to be one of the biggest releases of the year. Fans are eagerly awaiting the action-packed entertainer, which promises to showcase Salman Khan in a larger-than-life avatar.
