Years after announcing the ambitious mythological film ‘Nagin’, it seems like the Shraddha Kapoor starrer is finally set to go on floors.
On the occasion of Makar Sankranti, producer Nikhil Dwivedi shared an exciting update with fans waiting in anticipation for the movie. In an Instagram post, he thrilled fans of the Bollywood star by sharing a photo of the film’s script, titled ‘Nagin: An Epic Tale of Love & Sacrifice’. The script had a marigold flower on it, and was shared with the caption, “Makar Sankranti & Finally…”
The news comes months after Dwivedi revealed that Kapoor was excited to get cracking on the film and confirmed that he was looking to begin work in 2025.
Nagin, whcih was announced as a trilogy, will reportedly delve into the lore of shape-shifting serpent women in Indian mythology.
Back in 2020, Shraddha took to her handles to share her excitement about the project and described it as a dream come true. In a heartfelt tweet, she wrote, “It’s an absolute delight for me to play a Naagin on screen. I have grown up watching, admiring, and idolising Sridevi ma’am’s Nagina and Nigahen and have always wanted to play a similar role rooted in Indian traditional folklore.”
The film, which promises to combine mythology, drama, and cutting-edge visual effects, is one of the most anticipated Bollywood projects of the year. This will be Shraddha’s second turn in the mythological genre, after starring in the horror-comedy ‘Stree’ which went on to become a box office blockbuster.
